For the past year or so, Jim Burrell has been working tirelessly go get this old house moved from Loveland to Fort Collins. Well, he finally made it. The house is now here in Fort Collins, ready to be moved onto its new foundation. Jim, and the good folks at Empire Carpentry will then restore the home. While the move certainly was not easy, in terms of time, approvals, permits, and financially, it will be a beautiful home once restored, and will fit right into Old Town. It will be fun to watch the progress on this house.

To follow the story from the beginning, check out Jim’s site (specifically the Garfield tag): http://lapoudre.multiply.com/tag/garfield with a few other, older posts, also located under the loveland tag, like this one: http://lapoudre.multiply.com/journal/item/263/Update_on_old_North_Garfield_house...
I can’t wait to see how it looks when it’s all fixed up! The garage is already a night and day difference. http://lapoudre.multiply.com/journal/item/481/Where_Ive_been_the_Garfield_Garage.
Is this the building that is parked next to Police Services building on Timberline?
Yes it was.
Just a note…..By the time the house moved, no one believed me anymore, when I said it would! We had been setting dates since August 2009. I believe Jim Burrill was barely holding on. Although it will be a long time till completion, the house is starting to shape for Jim & Carol. What a nice couple to work for!
A fun project…stay tuned!
